Original Fruito


The original Weis bar is our famous Fruito - a tropical blend of sweet pineapple, real bananas and tangy passionfruit, topped with just the right amount of cream.

Only fresh, perfectly ripened bananas are used in our Fruito bar. The variety we use is the Cavendish, known as the dessert banana, which is grown locally in Queensland and northern NSW.

Golden and fragrant, the pineapple was originally one of the world's rarest fruits. Lucky for us it is now grown locally and around the world. We've been using pineapple as long as we've been making Weis Bars. Unlike other fruits, the pineapple will not sweeten any further as it ripens. That's why it is important for us to work with our suppliers to ensure each crop will be bringing exactly the right balance of sweetness and zing.

Passionfruit provides the yin and yang of sweetness and tang. This luxurious, intense pulpy fruit has a flavour which is known for enhancing the taste of all other fruits. It's been a star ingredient in our Fruito Bars since the beginning!

Available individually at selected petrol stations, convenience and corner stores, and in multipacks at Woolworths, Coles and IGA supermarkets.

Ingredients

Fruit Ice Confection Ingredients: Water, Banana (19%), Pineapple (18%), Sugar, Glucose Syrup (From Maize or Tapioca), Passionfruit Juice (2.5%), Milk Solids, Natural Colour (160a, 162), Food Acid (330).

Ice Cream Ingredients: Cream (46%), Water, Sugar, Glucose Syrup (From Maize or Tapioca), Milk Solids. Ice cream portion contains min. 10% Milk Fat.

THE ORIGINAL WEIS BAR

Fruito was developed by Cyril Weis in 1936, and first sold commercially by his son Les in 1957 from Pop’s Milk Bar in Toowoomba.
