The macadamia kernel, safely stored within a hard shell, is often described as the sweetest nut Mother Nature can provide - a subtle nutty flavour with a uniquely smooth, but crunchy texture. With all of this going for it, we decided that the macadamia was our kind of nut.
We also knew that roasting brings out the sweet nutty flavour of the macadamia, so started our search for the best tasting roasted macadamias in Australia. Fortunately we found them right on our doorstep in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
