The Ingredients


At Weis, our approach to creating our fruit and ice cream products is quite straightforward. We simply source the best quality fruit and other real ingredients and blend them together. We don't use artificial flavours or colours.

But not just any fruit.

Over many years, we have developed close working relationships with growers and suppliers to ensure we receive the best quality fruit all year round. This unique understanding means that we can meet our own high quality standards.

With fruit, however, it’s not only about using the best quality available. We're also very careful about selecting exactly the right variety of fruit.  Each variety is chosen based on its characteristics and ability to bring the best balance of flavour, taste and texture to that particular product. 

Working with a completely natural product like fruit can sometimes be a challenge!  During the mango season our team of "fruit experts" inspect all fruit on arrival and assess exactly when it's at its peak and ready for processing.

Capturing the best possible flavour and natural taste of each fruit is the key to creating our fruit and cream recipes. We know, for example, that some fruits are more sensitive than others.  Throughout processing our aim is to maintain flavour intensity and protect delicate or subtle flavours. 

All fruit used by Weis is GMO free.
