Today, the world-class Weis range of Bars, Ice Creams, Frozen Yoghurts and Sorbets is loved across Australia and around the world. We're passionate about surprising and delighting our customers with exceptional quality ingredients and fabulous flavour combinations. We're proudly following in the footsteps of our founder Les Weis, who started it all in 1957 with his iconic Fruito Bar.

Take a look back to 1957. At the Empire Theatre in Neil Street, Toowoomba, Elvis is about to rock the house. But before he does (it's intermission time) across the street at Pop's corner store, the movie-going crowd are knocking down the doors for a treat of a far more local flavour: Les Weis' Fruito Bar.

  • 1957 - Fruito’s first day!

  • 1957 - Off to do one of our first deliveries

  • 1959 - One of the original mango wrappers

  • 1971 - Pretty hip! Advertising a new bar in the 70’s

  • 1973 - Peach Champagne. Yes, we poured champagne from the bottle to give it that real taste.

  • 1975 - One of our creations in the 70’s

  • 1980 - Some of our products in the 80’s

  • 1990 - Company founder Les Weis in the early 90’s

  • 1992 - Flavours of the 90’s

  • 1994 - Spreading the word about Weis in the 90’s

  • 2002 - Launched our first tub range – Frutia

  • 2004 - Macadamia and Mango is launched

  • 2012 - Launched our first Weis for Dessert flavours

  • 2013 - Our first Frozen Yoghurt range launched

  • 2015 - The latest edition to our range - the Weis Strawberry Watermelon, Lychee & Ice Cream Bar - is launched!
